The Council of Europe website has a new “Freedom from violence against women” section highlighting the impact of the European Convention on Human Rights, as part of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.

This new section provides access to twelve case studies, showing how judgments from the European Court of Human Rights, and their implementation by Council of Europe member states, help to change national laws and practices concerning violence against women, to the benefit of society as a whole.

The website on the impact of the European Convention on Human Rights, which includes over 150 case studies from across Europe, is available also in Turkish.

The European Union and Council of Europe Joint Action on “Fostering Women’s Access to Justice in Turkey” continues to raise awareness about European standards, including the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights, on access to justice for women, especially women victims/survivors of violence.
