Dear Chairs/Presidents, dear friends,
At the start of this New Year, I should like to begin by offering you my warmest wishes for peace, solidarity and good health. I hope 2012 brings you the energy you need for your actions.
As you know, the Conference of INGOs will be holding its session from 24 to 27 January 2012 and will have a very busy programme. Two meetings of the INGO-Service association will be held during the session.
The reform implemented by the Secretary General has demanded great efforts from the Conference of INGOs, which has been faced with unprecedented restructuring. Many meetings of the Bureau and the Standing Committee have been needed to adapt our various bodies to the financial resources allocated by the organisation, which have been cut substantially.
Our priority objectives include communication using our new toolkit, dialogue with the other pillars of the Council of Europe, our participation in all the discussions and activities which concern us and the expansion of our activities with local and international organisations, which will all necessitate many working meetings on the part of our three committees.
In order to meet the expectations of the Conference of INGOs and its bodies properly, the INGO-Service association needs adequate financial resources.
As you no doubt realise, we cannot continue to operate without your financial support. Your annual contribution of 120 euros is the best proof of your commitment and the best response to the dynamic developed by the Conference of INGOs.
The more of us sign up, the stronger and the more widely recognised we will be. Much is at stake here and it is an exciting challenge for promoting INGOs.
