Seminar on the Revised Social Charter in Moscow
[19/09/2011] In order in order to provide assistance in the drafting of the first
and second reports of the Russian Federation under the Revised European Social Charter and to provide training of government officials
in the legal requirements of the Revised Charter, a seminar will
take place in Moscow on 20 September 2011.
The first report will concern the accepted provisions of the thematic group on Employment, Training and Equal Opportunities, i.e. Articles 1 (right to work), 9 (Right to vocational guidance), 10 (Right to vocational training) 15 (Right of persons with disabilities to independence, social integration and participation in the life of the community),
18 (Right to engage in a gainful occupation in the territory of
other parties) and 24 (Right to protection in case of dismissal).
This report is due by 31 October 2011.
Mr. Matti Mikkola, former President and member of the European Committee
of Social Rights, will attend the seminar, as well as Mr.
Régis Brillat, Head of the Department of the European Social Charter
and Mr Riccardo Priore, administrator.
The overall objective of this seminar is to ensure effectiveness of fundamental social rights in
the Russian Federation.
