Roundtable Meetings on Draft Legislative Package Relating to Surveillance Activities and Data Protection

On 27-28 March, the Council of Europe expert Prof. Joseph A. Cannataci will be holding roundtable meetings in Tbilisi with the authors of draft legislative package relating to surveillance activities and data protection, and representatives of the government, parliament and civil society.

Prof. Cannataci is one of the authors of the expert opinion on the draft Laws of Georgia relating to Surveillance Activities of Law Enforcement Authorities and National Security Agencies issued by the Data Protection Unit of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe, which was drawn up on the basis of a request of the Speaker of Parliament of Georgia.

The meetings will be followed by a press conference at 17:30 hrs on Friday, 28 March at the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel.
