Expert Opinion on Draft Laws on Data Protection and Surveillance Activities

On 5 March, the Data Protection Unit of the Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law of the Council of Europe published its expert opinion on the draft Laws of Georgia relating to Surveillance Activities of Law Enforcement Authorities and National Security Agencies. The Opinion was drawn up on the basis of a request of the Speaker of Parliament of Georgia. The draft legislative package and the Opinion will be the subject of a follow-up roundtable meeting planned for 27-28 March.
