European Day of Languages

European Day of Languages, which is being celebrated in the whole world on 26 September since 2001, was initiated by the Council of Europe to celebrate rich cultural heritage and  plurilingualism in Europe.

Under the patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Maia Panjikidze; the Minister of Education and Science, Ms. Tamar Sanikidze; the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Mr Levan Kipiani; and with the support of the European Union Delegation in Georgia, an event, for children under the age of 7-14 years, will be held on 28 September at Youth Palace, 6 Rustaveli Ave. The organiser of the event is EUNIC.


Free entrance. Registration for children (7 to 14 years old) participating in the rally and language demonstration workshops from 10:30


•  11: 00: Opening ceremony

• 11:30-16:00: Language demonstration workshops (French, German, English, Italian, Lithuanian, Polish, Greek, Romanian)

•  14:00-16:00 : rally

•  16:00-17:00:
            -           Multilingual acoustic concert by Merab Nutsubidze
            -           Fairy tale workshops by international theatre company Galli-Theater
            -           Snacks
•  17: 00 closing ceremony and distribution of the awards to the winners of the rally.
