 The
Deputy Secretary-General of the Council of Europe, Ms Gabriella Battaini
Dragoni, is visiting Tbilisi on 14 and 15 February. She will be accompanied by
the Director of Political Advice, Mr Alexandre Guessel, and the Director of the
Office of the Directorate-General of Programmes, Ms Verena Taylor.
The purpose of her visit will be to launch discussions with the Georgian
Government on developing a pluri-annual Action Plan. Such cooperation documents
are endorsed by the CoE's Committee of Ministers. They exist for many other CoE
member states, but as yet not for Georgia, and they generally give greater
visibility of the strategy and consistency of our cooperation.
The Deputy Secretary-General's visit programme will
include meetings with a broad range of Ministers, including the Prime Minister.
