two-day training seminar on the implementation of parole will take place in the
premises of the Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre on 21-22 January
2012, in the framework of the Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion
of Judicial Reform, Human and Minority Rightsâ€, for Probation Officers of
Tbilisi. The training will be led by the trainers of the Penitentiary and
Probation Training Centre who have been trained by the Council of Europe in June
2011. The training aims to acquaint probation officers with the European
standards on parole and is the third training out of five to be held nationwide.
A
political organisation set up in 1949, the Council of Europe works to promote
democracy and human rights continent-wide. It also develops common responses to
social, cultural and legal challenges in its 47 member states.
