| Trainings on human rights for judges and students of the High School of Justice | ||||
Two
training seminars for judges of first instance courts dealing with criminal
cases and students of the High School of Justice (HSoJ) will take place on 16-17
June at the HSoJ. Judges will be trained on the case law of the European Court
of Human Rights on Articles 2 (Right to life), 3 (Prohibition of torture) and 6
(Right to a fair trial) of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). The
seminar will specifically focus on the requirement for well-reasoned judgments
in criminal cases. In a separate training seminar, students of the HSoJ will be
briefed on the case law on Articles 5 (Right to liberty and security) and 6
(Right to a fair trial) of the ECHR. Both training seminars will combine
substantive teaching with case studies, with a view to putting the acquired
knowledge into practice. The seminars are being organised in the framework of
the Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial Reform, Human
and Minority Rights”.
