A meeting on participation of women in public life
A meeting on participation of women in public life will be held in Tbilisi on 7 and 8 of February 2012. It is organised within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Facility, which is financed by the European Union and implemented by the Council of Europe. The meeting will gather female parliamentarians and civil society representatives from the Eastern Partnership countries[1] to discuss the role of gender in elections, political parties and media, and to exchange experiences on reconciling professional and family lives. Council of Europe experts on gender issues and on elections, including representatives and experts from the Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) and the Venice Commission, will contribute to the discussions. The Central Electoral Commission of Georgia and the European Union Delegation in Tbilisi will also attend this event.
