Strasbourg,
04.12.2012 – Michael Aastrup Jensen (Denmark, ALDE) and Boriss Cilevičs (Latvia,
SOC), co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe
(PACE) for the honouring of obligations and commitments by Georgia, will
undertake a fact-finding visit to the country from 5 to 7 December 2012.
In Tbilisi
they are due to meet the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister and the
Ministers of Foreign Affairs, the Interior and Justice. Further talks are
scheduled with the Minister in charge of the penitentiary system, the State
Minister for Reintegration and the State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic
Integration.
The
co-rapporteurs will also be meeting the leaders of the political factions
represented in parliament, the Georgian delegation to PACE, the judicial
authorities, the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission, members of the
diplomatic community and civil society representatives.
The
co-rapporteurs will give a press conference on Friday , 7 December at 7.00 pm
(Radisson Blue Iveria Hotel).
