| Round Table on Freedom of Information in Georgia | ||||

Tbilisi, 06.07.2012 – On 6 July 2012 a round table on freedom of information in Georgia will be held at the hotel Betsy’s, Tbilisi. The event is organised in the framework of the European Union - Council of Europe Joint Programme «Promoting Freedom, Professionalism and Pluralism of the Media in the South Caucasus and Moldova 2011-2012». Representatives of the media and non-governmental organisations will take part in the meeting partnered by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information. Representatives of this non-governmental organisation will speak not only about the general issues relating to freedom of information in the country but also present a new initiative to be put in place thanks to their active involvment, by which the public institutions’ web sites will be complemented by a specific page on public information. Participants of the meeting will have the opportunity to hear about Bulgarian practice on the matter, presented by Mr Alexander Kashumov, Head of the legal team of access to information programme, Bulgaria. The meeting will be open to discussions.
