Children's rights
training for the Child Advisory Board of the Office of the Public Defender
A
two-day training for the Child Advisory Board of the Office of Public Defender
of Georgia will take place on 4-5 May at Courtyard Marriott Hotel. The Child
Advisory Board consists of 15 schoolchildren aged 13 to 18 from different
schools in Tbilisi and SOS Children Village. The training is aimed at increasing
the Board members’ knowledge of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and
strengthening their advocacy skills. The effectiveness of children's
self-government in schools will also be discussed. The training is organised in
the framework of Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial
Reform, Human and Minority Rights.”
A

democracy and human rights continent-wide. It also develops common responses to
social, cultural and legal challenges in its 47 member states.
