of Europe, under the auspices of the EU/CoE Joint Programme “Reinforcing the
Fight against Ill-treatment and Impunity†is organizing two two-day cascade
trainings for the staff members of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal
Assistance of Georgia. The trainings are to be held in Rustavi Training Centre
on 10-11 May and 24-25 May, 2012. The trainings aim to raise awareness of the
participants on ECHR requirements, including the case-law of the European Court
of Human Rights, as well as on CPT and Istanbul Protocol Standards related to
combating ill-treatment at prisons. Trainers for these cascade trainings are
selected from the list of participants of training-of-trainers conducted under
the same Joint Programme in February, 2012 with the guidance of prominent
foreign human rights experts.
