March
15,
2012 Tbilisi
hosted Roberto Olla – Executive Director of Eurimages – Council of Europe Film
Support Foundation.
The
Eurimages director was hosted by Georgian National Film Center.
Roberto
Olla met the representatives of the Georgian film sector and gave a presentation
regarding Eurimages and its activities. Georgian producers got acquainted with
Council of Europe Film Support Foundation and learned how Georgian film projects
can apply for European financing.
Within the
framework of the visit, Roberto Olla met the representatives of the Ministry of
Culture and Protection of Monuments and the authorities of Georgian
movie-theaters.
In
accordance with Eurimages Board meeting decision taken in Helsinki,
Finland, on June 10, 2011, Georgia became the 36th member of
Eurimages.
The aim of
Eurimages
is to support and promote European film industry by way of encouraging film
coproduction and distribution as well as professional networking. Eurimages
resources are obtained from the annual membership fees of its member states.
The
Foundation allocates financing in four key directions:

Support of co-production
- Support
of distribution
-
Support of movie-theaters
-
Provision of digital technologies to the movie-theaters of Eurimage member
states.
