30.11.2011 - On 6 December 2011, the
working group charged with drafting a Strategy and Action Plan for the
Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre will meet at the Office of the
Council of Europe in Georgia. The work of the group will focus on the
development of the objectives of the draft Strategy and concrete activities for
the Action Plan, in line with the standards of the Council of Europe. This
activity is conducted in the framework of the Denmark’s Georgia Programme
2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial Reform, Human and Minority Rightsâ€.
Representatives of the Penitentiary and
Probation Training Centre, the National Probation Agency, the Penitentiary
Department and NGOs will participate in the working group meeting. In addition,
a national and two international experts of the Council of Europe will
contribute to the development of the Strategy and Action Plan.
There will be two additional meetings in February and March 2012, followed by a
round table in March 2012, when the draft Strategy and Action Plan will be
presented to the Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance for further
consideration, adoption and implementation.
