30.11.2011 - On 8-9 December 2011,
the working group charged with drafting an Action Plan for the Strategy on
Health Care in the Penitentiary System for 2011-2013 will meet in Bakuriani. The
work of the group will focus on the activities to be carried out during
2011-2013 to achieve the objectives of the Strategy and determine which
agencies will be responsible for implementation of the various activities
mentioned in the Action Plan. This activity is conducted in the framework of the
Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial Reform, Human and
Minority Rightsâ€.
Representatives of the Ministry of Corrections
and Legal Assistance of Georgia, the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social
Affairs of Georgia, ICRC and NGOs working in the prison health care field will
be involved in drafting the Action Plan. In addition, two international experts
from the Council of Europe will contribute to the development of the Action
Plan.
Following the meeting of the working group the draft Action Plan will be
presented to the Minister of Corrections and Legal Assistance and the Minister
of Labour, Health and Social Affairs, for its further consideration, adoption
and implementation.
