A study visit for representatives of the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia (MCLA) to the Training Centre for Prison Staff of the Kingdom of The Netherlands will take place on 27-30 June 2011, in the framework of Denmark’s Georgia Programme 2010-2013 “Promotion of Judicial Reform, Human and Minority Rights”.

The delegation of the MCLA will comprise management and staff of the Penitentiary and Probation Training Centre (PPTC), as well as the Deputy Head of National Probation Agency.
Apart from visiting the Training Centre for Prison Staff, the MCLA delegation will also go to the Police Academy, the Probation Agency and the Vught Penitentiary Establishment..

The study visit will acquaint  the MCLA delegation with the activities of the Training Centre for Prison Staff of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, the specificities of training and re-training of prison security staff at the Police Academy and the in-service training provided at penitentiary establishments, as well as issues related to the training and re-training of staff of the Probation Agency. This knowledge will be of use to the PPTC when elaborating the strategy and action plan on its future development.
