Group of Experts on Conservation of Amphibians and Reptiles (Marine turtles)
The Bern Convention group of experts of the amphibian and reptiles was created in 1986 and has been very active
on the conservation of amphibians and reptiles. The group meets regularity and under to its very active work a
few recommendations and action plans had been made and adopted.
The Bern Convention has been particularly active on dealing with conservation problems of marines turtles in
the Mediterranean, both in the framework of the group of experts on amphibians and reptiles, on the organisation
of conferences, and in the opening of files for presumed violations in a number of important nesting beaches.
