Neuchâtel is a canton in Switzerland. It has a population of 170,897. The majority group makes up 70% of the city’s inhabitants. Non nationals make up 25% of Neuchâtel’s population. The ethnic composition of the canton’s population in descending order comprises: Portugese-6.79%; Italians-4.81%; French-3.53%; The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia -1.68% and Spanish 1.29%.
