The Emerald Network Viewer is a public on-line tool, developed with the support of the European Environment Agency and the European Union which enables to locate and visualise, with different types of backgrounds, the proposed/candidate and officially adopted sites by 16 Contracting Parties to the Bern Convention which currently implement the Network.

Furthermore, the Viewer offers different features, including the full list of species and/or habitats for which an Emerald site is proposed/candidate or adopted.

The Emerald Network Viewer is a useful tool for all stakeholders who have an interest for ecological networks and biodiversity conservation but also for land use planning, policy makers, scientists and academia.

The Emerald Network Viewer is complementary to the Natura 2000 Viewer which focuses on the conservation areas designated under European Union’s Natura 2000 Network.
