The Bureau of the Bern Convention met on the 18-19 September at Council of Europe’s premises in Strasbourg to review progress made by the Convention’s international specialist groups of experts in the fields of biodiversity and climate change, protected areas and ecological networks, amphibians and reptiles, conservation of birds, eradication of illegal killing trapping and trade in wild birds and eradication of invasive alien species. It specifically looked into the continuing progress in the development of the Emerald Network. In order to aid the signatory Parties in their commitment to implementation of the Convention, the Bureau places significant importance on the assessment of pending case file complaints and further addressed the follow up of previous recommendations and strategic development of the Convention to meet any future challenges.
