The mission of the Observatory is to provide a clear picture of the state of history teaching, based on reliable data and facts on how history is taught in its member states, through general and thematic reportsOur logo reflects this mission: a camera with a multicoloured shutter symbolising the diversity of educational systems and the multiple perspectives we bring into focus.

Building on this foundation, we realised we could go further. Our data is not only presented in static reports, in the country pages, infographics on this website or on social media. It is now also available through advanced data visualisations that allow you to explore, compare, download, and use country information for your specific needs.

Currently, the OHTE Dataviz project* covers our latest report: the OHTE thematic report on "Economic crises in history teaching" and the OHTE General Report on the state of history teaching in Europe - but it will soon also cover the first OHTE Thematic report on "Pandemics and natural disasters as reflected in history teaching" (by July 2026). You can subscribe to our mailing list to receive notifications when new dashboards are made available.
