1 June – start of the online marathon dedicated to the International Day for Protection of Children

On 1 June, which is celebrated as International Children’s Day in a number of Council of Europe member states, the Council of Europe Project "Promoting social human rights as a key factor of sustainable democracy in Ukraine" in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine is organising an online marathon and several other activities during the week to mark that day:  

  • concert with famous Ukrainian musicians and talented children on 1 June at at 12:00 (Kyiv time).
  • video master classes from popular craftsmen and artists;
  • series of infographics about Children rights;
  • presentation of the Report "Protecting the Child from Poverty: The Role of Rights in the Council of Europe" by Aoife Nolan, member of the European Committee of Social Rights, in Ukrainian;
  • presentation of the booklet "Tell me, what is the European Social Charter" in Ukrainian;
  • final video on the International Day for Protection of Children.

The Council of Europe Project "Promoting social human rights as a key factor of sustainable democracy in Ukraine" is being implemented since 1 August, 2019 for two years in sphere of the development and protection of social human rights, namely persons with disabilities (article 15 of the European Social Charter (Charter), older persons (article 23 of the Charter) and children (articles 7, 15 of the Charter).
