In 2007, the Eurimages Fund became a patron of the European Film Academy and established an award for co-production: the Eurimages International Co-Production Award (formerly known as the Co-Production Award - Prix Eurimages).

This award recognises a distinguished producer from a Eurimages member State who is active in co-production. Its main objective is to highlight the crucial role that co-production plays in the film industry.
 

The Eurimages International Co-Production Award, which is not financial, is presented as part of the European Film Awards during the annual ceremony.

The Eurimages Funds grants an amount of €70,000 to the European Film Academy and the European Film Academy Productions for the organisation of the prize’s awarding.

Since 2025, Eurimages has supported a new initiative of the European Film Academy called the European Award Season, with an initial amount of €5,000.
