European Conference of Data Protection Authorities

The Office of the Data Protection Inspector of Georgia, Ms Tamar Kaldani, is hosting the 29th Edition of the European Conference of Data Protection Authorities (“Spring Conference”). This annual meeting is an important occasion for the 30+ European data protection authorities (90 participants) to exchange on a variety of common issues that they are facing currently. A session dedicated to Convention 108+ will enable to take stock of the developments since last year’s Edition of the Conference, to look towards the entry into force of the modernised Convention : why is it crucially needed and what do to do to get there.

Other sessions of the Conference will focus on the “GDPR – one year – (g)old standard”, on the protection of child’s data, on data protection and international organisations as well as on the future of the Conference.

The close cooperation between the Data Protection Unit and the Inspector’s office, with regard to the translation into Georgian and launch of the Handbook on European Data Protection Law as well as HELP data protection programme, will also be highlighted.
