Poland signs the Faro Convention

In the presence of Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Ambassador Jerzy Baurski, Permanent Representative of Poland to the Council of Europe, signed on 10 May 2021 the Council of Europe Framework Convention on the Value of Cultural Heritage for Society (commonly referred as Faro Convention).

This latest signature brings the total number of signatures to 7, in addition to the 21 member States that have ratified the Convention. Poland’s signature should further encourage citizen engagement in cultural heritage governance and the development of additional bottom-up initiatives in this domain, as the initiatives compiled in a recent study.
