At their 1562nd meeting on 3 June, the Ministers’ Deputies held a thematic debate on the protection of women’s rights, children’s rights, and the fight against domestic violence, with the participation of: Mr Christophe Robino, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of Monaco; Ms Maria-Andriani Kostopoulou, President of the Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO); and Ms Ivana Jelić, Vice-President of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). Considered as a universal phenomenon, violence against women and children affects every society without exception and is now manifesting with increasing intensity in digital environments. Given the scale and urgency of the situation, a comprehensive and coordinated approach rooted in strengthened intergovernmental co-operation is essential.

In addition, the Deputies held their regular exchange with Secretary General Alain Berset, as well as an exchange of views with Ms Marta Cartabia, President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission), following her presentation of the Venice Commission’s 2025 annual report (more information …).

The other items examined by the Deputies appear in the Agenda and the decisions adopted are available in the meeting file.
