In 2019 the Council of Europe is inviting former participants of recent Youth Peace Camps to collaborate on implementing their follow up projects. The idea behind is to ensure that the Youth Peace Camps make a difference on local and regional level and to make the efforts of young peacebuilder visible and recognised.
We welcome your ideas of projects for which the Council of Europe can offer educational, institutional and also to some extent financial support. At the same time, we encourage you to engage with other participants, stakeholders and to look for co-financing resources.
In the attached document below you will find information about the general concept of the follow up with a form in which you can outline your ideas, the details of your budget plan (if relevant). The budget proposals should be realistic, possibly within a range of maximum 2000-5000 Euros – the focus should remain on smaller scale local/or in certain cases regional level and projects should maximize the potential of local/regional cooperation with Youth Peace Camp alumni and all stakeholders. We would also encourage any actions that do not necessarily require significant budget but rely on other types of support and use innovative ideas.
We would invite you to reach out to former YPC facilitators and participants (and potentially other participants of recent relevant Council of Europe projects) and coordinate and collaborate with them in developing and submitting your ideas.
Please also note that under the Youth Peace Camp website we created two sub-pages: Ideas by young peacebuilders (from 2018) and Follow-up activities – the later still under development and intended to be regularly updated – your feedback and suggestions are welcome, as well as let us know about any other initiative that we could share here.
