New GREVIO report on 2023 activities highlights digital dimension of violence against women

The recent GREVIO (Group of Experts on Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence) report on last year's activities dedicates a section to the role and importance of risk assessment and management in preventing and combating violence against women. It explores the digital dimension of this issue in greater detail by looking at examples of domestic laws and policies, risk-assessment frameworks and awareness-raising activities.

The report emphasizes the necessity of enhancing training for authorities to effectively respond to various forms of violence, which include digital manifestations.

The text also references the Platform of Independent Expert Mechanisms on Discrimination and Violence against Women (EDVAW Platform), which released a thematic paper focusing on the digital aspects of violence against women, as addressed by its seven mechanisms, in 2022.
