An assessment mission of two international experts in the framework of the European Union / Council of Europe joint project “Support to Efficiency of Justice – SEJ” took place in Albania on 19 – 20 January 2015.  The purpose of the mission was to assess the current situation in Albania with regard to courts and other justice institutions, current practices of collaboration with the Media and to identify areas/issues where assistance is needed.

In this context, a workshop took place on this day, aiming at raising awareness on the Council of Europe instruments, such as the Committee of Ministers’ Recommendation (2003)13, the Consultative Council  of European Judges' Opinions no.12 and no. 7 and the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors' Opinion no. 8.

The workshop and other planned bilateral meetings were attended by senior level officials of Albanian stakeholders such as the Ministry of Justice, the High Council of Justice, the High Court, the Prosecution Office, the School of Magistrates, the Albanian Courts and by representatives of the European Union Delegation to Albania and other international organisations.
