Discussions with civil society organisations on best practices in promoting democratic culture in school

In the framework of the project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania over 20 representatives of civil society organisations, experts and project staff gathered in a round table to discuss on best practises identified in the pilot schools of the project. The meeting was addressed by Gennadiy Kosyak, Program Manager, Education Department of the Council of Europe, who emphasised the importance of ensuring efficient and coherent engagement with Civil Society Organisations.

The attendees had the opportunity to share best practises and lessons learned during the project's implementation thus far and also discuss the challenges encountered in enhancing youth activism in the promotion and protection of human rights. The roundtable provided valuable feedback on the extension and consolidation of these practises throughout the pre-university system in interaction with the family and the community.

The Council of Europe project Strengthening Democratic Citizenship Education in Albania, financed by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, continues piloting in 75 schools throughout Albania with the goal of encouraging practices for democratic governance in schools and further promotion of democratic culture in society.
