Senior representatives of the key Albanian institutions dealing with property rights and legal experts, representatives of the groups of interest participated in a series of consultations by the joint European Union / Council of Europe action on Supporting enforcement of the judicial decisions and facilitating the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania, in view of the draft amendments to the Law no. 133/2015 "On the treatment of property and the completion of the process of property compensation".

The proposed amendments aim at regulating the said legislation in accordance with the requirements of the European Court of Human Rights' decision "Beshiri vs. Albania" and in line with theArticle 1 of Protocol 1 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

Consultations provided concrete recommendations for the improvement of the draft, aiming to complete the process of treatment and compensation of property within the legal deadlines and compliance with international obligations.

These activities were organised in the framework of the Action “Supporting enforcement of the judicial decisions and facilitating the execution of ECtHR judgements in Albania” part of European Union and the Council of Europe joint programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022.
