“The power of learning from your peers”

Three series of Peer Learning Events were organised throughout March and April in Berat, Durrës and Vlorë aimed at strengthening ties among 21 pilot schools and improving communication and team work. More than 100 teachers from 21 pilot schools exchanged ideas and practices, fostered exchange, dialogue, cooperation and built networks that will remain active even after the duration of the project.

The main focus of the action this year is the development of anti-bullying school policies in the 21 pilot schools and in this regard, these events contributed significantly to strengthening the policy-making process between the teams using an inclusive and participatory approach including sharing experiences on the organisation of Anti-Bullying Open Days and community involvement.

Participants appreciated the event methodology and commented that they felt more motivated and had acquired a better understanding of the whole process of policy development and of the importance of having a common vision, a clear strategy and cooperation with all the stakeholders.

I have gained a better understanding of the whole process of policy development and I feel that now as a team we have a clear strategy”, said the team leader of "Beqir Cela" school. “We felt welcomed and valued throughout the event and we have learned a lot”, stressed a team member of "Europa" school. “It was a very productive activity, through which we learned important lessons for our future work as a team and as a school”, wrote one of the participants.

These activities were organised within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe Horizontal Facility Action “Fighting bullying and extremism in the education system in Albania”.
