The Chair of MONEYVAL, Mr Nicola Muccioli, participated in the 19th Ministerial Conference of the Pompidou Group, held in Strasbourg on 27 and 28 November 2025. Mr Muccioli’s intervention took place during the conference’s session on risks and harms related to online addictions, where he highlighted the vulnerabilities in online environments and emerging technologies as fertile ground for financial crime, including through the exploitation of vulnerable or addicted users for money laundering and terrorist financing.

The conference brought together ministers and senior officials from Pompidou Group member and observer States, international organisations, civil society and networks, academia and media representatives.
