On 24 September 2025, Mr Nicola Muccioli, Chairperson of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL), held an exchange of views with the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers.

Presenting MONEYVAL’s annual report, Mr. Muccioli outlined its achievements in combating money laundering and terrorist financing in 2024, a year that marked the conclusion of the 5th round of mutual evaluations.

Looking ahead, he noted that the 6th evaluation round, launched in 2024, moved forward with the adoption of Latvia’s Mutual Evaluation Report in June 2025, during a joint MONEYVAL/FATF plenary meeting. Mr. Muccioli also thanked MONEYVAL’s international partners and various Council of Europe bodies for their co-operation.

The Chair expressed gratitude to member states for their ongoing support and commitment.
