From 22 to 26 June 2026, the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) and the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) jointly conducted the FATF Standards Training Course. The training was organised in Valletta, Malta with the support of the Maltese National Coordinating Committee on Combating Money Laundering and Funding of Terrorism. 41 experts, including 28 experts from MONEYVAL jurisdictions and 1 member of the MONEYVAL Secretariat, successfully completed the training.
The Standards Training Course is an intermediate level training, designed for AML/CFT/CPF practitioners with prior exposure to the FATF Standards. Comprising of presentations as well as practical exercises, it aims at enhancing participants’ understanding of the FATF Standards and the implementation of effective measures to combat ML/TF/PF.
