Back Joint activities of “All-Ukrainian Charity Ukrainian “Child Well-Being Fund Ukraine” and Council of Europe Office in Ukraine

Within the awareness-raising campaign dedicated to the European Day on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse and with support of the Council of Europe Project “Combating Violence against Women and Children in Ukraine”, the Ukrainian Child Well-Being Fund conducted a webinar “Self-Defence for Children” on 30th October 30, 2017.

The aim of the webinar was to raise awareness about sexual abuse of children in Ukraine and to present methods to educate parents and children aged from 4 to 18 to prevent it through learning of safe behaviour skills. The main target group of the webinar was experts and professionals in contact with or dealing with child abuse cases. A total of registered participants reached 414 persons, of whom over 93% were experts.

Information about the webinar was posted on:

In addition to the webinar, the Ukrainian Child Well-Being Fund distributes 1000 copies of each of the following awareness raising and prevention materials: a children’s book “Kiko and the Hand”; and parents’ leaflet “Teach Your Child the Rule ‘Don’t Touch Me Here” throughout November 2017. These materials will be used by social experts in their work with parents and children during the campaign dedicated to the European Day. The following organisations have already joined the initiative of the European Day and the awareness-raising campaign of the Ukrainian Child Well-Being Fund:

  • Cherkasy City Centre of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth;
  • Chernihiv Oblast Institute for Post-Graduate Teaching Education;
  • Smila City Centre of Social Services for Family, Children and Youth;

  • Kalush City Methodological Centre of Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast;
  • Cherkasy Oblast Centre for Practical Psychology and Social Work;
