Tampere is a city in the Pirkanmaa region, located in the western part of Finland. Tampere is the most populous inland city in the Nordic countries with a population of 247,866. It is the second-largest urban area and third most-populous individual municipality in Finland, after the cities of Helsinki and Espoo, and the most populous Finnish city outside the Greater Helsinki area. Today, Tampere is one of the major urban, economic, and cultural hubs in the whole inland region.

POPULATION DIVERSITY

Representation of different ethnic and linguistic groups are diverse in the city. People whose mother language is different than Finnish, Swedish or Saami consist of 8% of the population (20.793 people, 2021 data) and people with foreign nationality living in the city consist of 5% of the population. (12.631 people, 2021 data).
