It is with great pleasure that the Intercultural Cities programme announces the membership of Montesilvano (Italy) to the Italian Network of Intercultural Cities (Città del Dialogo).

Located in Southern Italy on the Adriatic shore of the Mediterranean, Montesilvano is the third largest city of Abruzzo Region and has a very diverse population. Foreign-born accounts for 8.3% of the overall population and are mainly attracted by the geographic position of the city and by the job opportunities it offers, in particular in the business, congress and tourism sectors.

Montesilvano is among the leading cities in Italy in the implementation of dedicated programmes for refugee welcoming, via the SPRAR funding system set up by the central government. The participation of Montesilvano to the “Città del Dialogo” and the ICC programme constitutes a real opportunity to share the city’s own experience in the field of intercultural inclusion and to connect it to the global ICC community.

By joining Città del Dialogo Montesilvano becomes the 148th ICC member. Welcome in the family!
