REPERES 2025: The French-Speaking Regional Training Course on Human Rights Education

From October 20 to 24 2025, 25 participants from mainland France, French Overseas departments, and several French-speaking countries will take part in REPERES, the French-language regional training course on human rights education for young people. Organised at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg, this training is designed for youth workers, educators, teachers, and actors in the associative world. It is based on the “Compass”, manual for human rights education with young people, developed by the Council of Europe.

The objective of the training is to strengthen the human rights education skills of those working in youth work, social education, community engagement, and teaching within French-speaking space. It encourages the development of non-formal learning environments based on the human rights education approach.

During the five days, participants will deepen their knowledge of human rights, explore non-formal education methods, and develop the skills necessary to design and implement human rights promotion and awareness-raising activities for young people.

This training course is a collaboration between the Council of Europe's Youth Department, the Department of Youth, Non-Formal Education, and Voluntary organisations (DJEPVA) within the French Ministry of Sport, Youth and Community Life, and the International Institute for Human Rights and Peace.
