Between the 28 and 30 September, seven young people of the Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors programme of the European Youth Parliament (EYP) are on a study visit to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to advocate and bring their youth perspectives on Ukraine’s recovery. They started their visit at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg to learn more about the work of the Council of Europe in the youth field and to exchange on the role of young people in Ukraine’s recovery and European integration.
The exchange with the Youth Department focused on the Council of Europe’s work on youth policy and youth participation, including its co-management system, as well as its ongoing co-operation with Ukraine.
During their stay in Strasbourg, the Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors have also met with members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights and representatives of Council of Europe member States to present and discuss their recommendations stemming from the policy paper “Rebuilding Ukraine: A Youth Policy Agenda for Recovery and EU Accession”.
Developed by young people from Ukraine and across Europe in the framework of an project supported by the European Youth Foundation, the publication puts forward recommendations in areas including democratic resilience, social cohesion and youth empowerment, rebuilding trust in public institutions, economic recovery, and Ukraine’s European integration.
This is the second advocacy visit of representatives of the European Youth Parliament to Strasbourg, their first visit that took place in June 2026 aimed at contributing to the Report on Facilitating Economic Recovery and Resilience of Ukraine: From Voluntary Returns to Enhanced Co-operation and Investment, prepared by the Swedish member of PACE Denis Begić (SOC).
The visit was supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.
