On 25 June 2026, the PACE Committee on Migration, International Protection and Economic Co-operation held a hearing with Taisiia Taran and Daria Perevertailo, two representatives of the European Youth Parliament (EYP). They presented youth perspective on the economic recovery and resilience of Ukraine, contributing to the Report on Facilitating Economic Recovery and Resilience of Ukraine: From Voluntary Returns to Enhanced Co-operation and Investment, prepared by the Swedish member of PACE Denis Begić (SOC).

At this meeting they also shared the message that young people want to be part of the voice that shapes the agenda for reconstruction and rebuilding of Ukraine, so that they are meaningful contributors to their countries’ future.

Committee members had an opportunity to exchange with the young participants and to express appreciation for their input and involvement.

Their presence at this meeting is part of the project “Rebuild Ukraine Ambassadors Lab” organised by the European Youth Parliament, in which a cohort of 25 young participants from Ukraine and other European countries reflected on policy recommendations for Ukraine’s reconstruction and EU Accession process. Their policy recommendations were compiled in a final publication presented at this committee meeting, and will also be part of an advocacy side-event at the next PACE plenary session in October 2026.
