Monitoring visit to the international activity “Youth Policy Academy – Engage, Connect, Empower (YPA-ECE)” of the Young Friends of the Earth Europe (YFOEE).

On 17 and 18 July 2025, the European Youth Foundation conducted a monitoring visit to the international activity “Youth Policy Academy – Engage, Connect, Empower (YPA-ECE)” organised by the Young Friends of the Earth Europe (YFOEE) network.

This capacity building activity, held at the European Youth Centre in Budapest over the course of four days (16-19 July 2025), was attended by 17 participants from 15 Council of Europe member states and aimed to empower youth environmental activists to engage with policy making processes and to build political expertise on intersectionality, climate, environmental and racial justice, strengthening their involvement in grassroots movements and organisations.

The participants were also contributors to the upcoming e-learning platform that will be created as an output of this project, where resources and materials will be gathered and shared among member organisations and environmental movements to help them better understand policy processes from national to EU levels (and other international organisations) and to explore ways to engage with these processes.

The Young Friends of the Earth Europe’s project is supported by the EYF through a grant for international activities. More information for this type of support can be found at the following link: What is an international activity? - European Youth Foundation
