EYF Monitoring visit to the international training course for youth workers on mental health organised by European Confederation of Youth Club’s (ECYC)

On 30 September and 1 October 2025, the European Youth Foundation conducted a monitoring visit to the international training course for youth workers on mental health, part of the European Confederation of Youth Club’s (ECYC) annual work plan “RE-mind: Reinforcing Mental Well-being and Inclusion in Youth Clubs”.

This capacity building activity, held at the Youth Centre Grao Porte in Valencia, Spain over the course of four days (29 Sept – 2 October 2025) was attended by 18 youth workers from 9 Council of Europe member States and aimed to equip participants with the necessary tools and competences to address mental health challenges for young people in their local contexts.

During this capacity building session, participants were presented with the findings of a research on youth clubs and mental health of young people in Europe, part of the first phrase of this annual work plan project. They also had the opportunity to share good practices and tools from their own experience with working with youth on mental health topics, to discover new methodologies that foster inclusive participatory practices (Lewis Deep Democracy), and to apply non-violent communication tools and self-care practices in their own work. At the end of the training, participants developed ideas for local multiplier actions that will be implemented in the third phase of this work plan project.

The European Confederation of Youth Clubs’s project is supported by the EYF through a grant for annual work plans. More information for this type of support can be found at the following link:  What is an annual work plan? - European Youth Foundation
