Back Advancing the implementation of socio-economic rights by making better use of the monitoring procedures of the European Social Charter

1st webinar for INGOs
Advancing the implementation of socio-economic rights by making better use of the monitoring procedures of the European Social Charter

The Council of Europe Conference of INGOs is organising, together with the Social Rights Department, a training session for non-governmental organisations on the monitoring procedures of the European Social Charter and in particular on the use of the collective complaints procedure as a means of advancing the implementation of socio-economic rights at national level.

The objectives of the training sessions are to:

  • increase the knowledge of national and international non-governmental organisations of the monitoring procedures (reporting procedure and collective complaint procedure) of the European Social Charter in order to encourage them to take an active part.
  • highlight the key role that INGOs and NGOs play in the application of the monitoring procedures of the Charter to better protect social rights at the pan-European level.
  • provide INGOs and NGOs with “know how” about the collective complaints procedure of the European Social Charter.
  • Raise awareness and support INGOs and NGOs on collective complaints, in order to increase the use of this instrument to guarantee social and economic rights, in particular of vulnerable groups in countries that have ratified the Protocol.
  • Strengthen the capacity of INGOs to submit collective complaints under the European Social Charter.

The first training session will be held via ZOOM on 29 March 2022 (14:00-16:30 CET).

The second session will be held on 14 June 2022 (10:00-12:30 CET) in hybrid mode if the health situation allows it.
