Personal Data Protection in Tunisia: an element to enhance human rights

On 26 May 2021, personal data protection  was represented by the INPDP (Instance nationale de protection de données personnelles) and its Chairman Chawki Gaddes, during a round table on Independent bodies to serve the citizens: enhancement of human rights in Tunisia.

Two round tables were organised on 25 and 26 May, in the framework of the EU/CoE Appui aux instances indépendantes en Tunisia (Support to independent instances in Tunisia, PAII-T).

The 26 May round table was particularly focused on the relations between independent authorities and the citizens. The independent authorities are, by constitutional decision, a pillar of the democracy and the Rule of Law in Tunisia and they play an important role in supporting the democratic development of the country.
