The 12th annual meeting of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 18 to 21 December 2017, on the theme “Shape Your Digital Future!”. Within a myriad of data protection-related events, it is worth noting the joint open forum by the European Broadcasting Union, Council of Europe, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland on Big-data, business and respect for human rights and the International Committee of the Red Cross open forum on Data Protection and Humanitarian Action.
The 43rd meeting of the Bureau of the Committee of Convention 108 will also take place in Geneva (hosted in the Humanitarium of the ICRC) from 18 to 20 December 2017. The main focus of this meeting will be the draft Recommendation on health-related data and the draft ICANN Guide.
