European Police Training on Hate Crime Against LGBTI Persons 28-29 October

The Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Unit of the Council of Europe in partnership with the European LGBT Police Association (EGPA) is offering an online Training on Policing Hate Crime against LGBTI persons, on 28 and 29 October 2021.

The training

The training intends to increase capacity of police officers in the field of hate crime against lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTI) persons. The training focuses on the manual: Policing Hate Crime against LGBTI persons: Training for a professional Police Response and will be delivered in two half-day sessions. The training is open to a maximum of 20 participants. The working language will be English.

Training programme

The applicants

The applicants must be members of national/regional/local police authorities dealing preferably with hate crime against LGBTI persons. Applicants belonging to departments related to criminal investigation, rapid response, torture and ill-treatment and discrimination complaints, among others which overlap with the thematic, are highly encouraged to apply.
