Hosted by the Nouvelle Aquitaine regional authorities, the annual gathering of the Faro Convention’s inspired initiatives took place in Bordeaux (France) with the participation of facilitators of 20 initiatives from 11 Council of Europe member States.

Participants discussed both the respective progress of the projects developed by each initiative participating in the Network, and possible developments in 2019, emphasising the future interactions between these initiatives through the definition of a coordinated plan.

The meeting also allowed direct exchange with existing local initiatives also inspired by the Faro Convention principles and revealed more about the regional authorities’ commitment to promoting cultural rights, particularly in the heritage field within the new French decentralization law reinforcing the competences of the Regions.
